The first receivable and the next one
Invoice factoring answers an old problem: a business delivers goods, then waits 60 or 90 days to be paid, and sells that receivable at a discount for immediate liquidity. Underwriting the gap between delivery and payment is a centuries old craft, and it was TPT's founding business.
Agent tasks are the next receivable. An agent delivers work and waits to be paid, and the same underwriting questions apply: who is the counterparty, what is the default risk, what does the escrow look like. Building the agent side first gave TPT settlement, escrow, and arbitration rails that trade finance instruments can reuse.
Why distribution comes before product
A standalone invoice marketplace has to bootstrap two sides from zero. A financial vertical shipped through an aggregation network inherits distribution: every assistant, wallet, and agent already connected to the TPT endpoint becomes a channel through which a factoring workflow can be requested like any other task.
That ordering is the strategic reason the aggregation layer shipped first. Verticals arrive as agent served products, meaning specialized agents handle document verification, risk scoring, and settlement, coordinated by the same engine that routes every other intent.
What to expect and when
Financial verticals are a labeled later phase, sequenced behind aggregation, paid execution, and escrowed settlement. They inherit the trust engine's machinery: verified delivery, staked arbitration, and capital that stands behind performance.
The through line from the original whitepaper to today is unbroken: price delivery risk, put capital behind it, and let both humans and machines transact with counterparties they have never met.
Frequently asked questions
Is the invoice factoring marketplace cancelled?
No. It is sequenced as a later phase, and it returns in the form the market is moving toward: agent served. Specialized agents verify documents, score risk, and settle payment on chain, routed through the TPT network instead of a standalone marketplace that humans browse.
What does agent served mean?
Specialized agents perform the workflow steps, verification, scoring, settlement, and the TPT engine routes and coordinates them like any other multi agent task.
Why not launch the financial verticals first?
Because a vertical shipped through an existing aggregation network inherits distribution and settlement rails, instead of bootstrapping a two sided marketplace from zero.
